Speech & Language Therapy
Speech and language therapy helps your child learn how to say sounds correctly, understand concepts and multi-step directions, and speak using the correct syntax and vocabulary. We also teach social skills to children who have difficulty knowing what to say or do in various social settings. Our therapy is tailored to your child's needs and is based on the information gathered during the evaulation. We feel that an important part of your child's progress is parent involvement, so we take care to make sure you are informed of strategies to use, skills to help your child practice at home, and the progress that your child is making. Speech and language therapy is typically scheduled in 30 or 50 minute sessions, once or twice a week.
We help your child in the following areas:
- Articulation delays or disorders (speech sounds)
- Receptive language delays or disorders (understanding)
- Expressive language delays or disorders (speaking)
- Social pragmatic deficits (social skills)
- Motor speech disorders (apraxia and dysarthria)
- Language needs related to Autism
